Mrs. Sandra Lee McVey, 82, of Galesburg, Illinois died 2:54 a.m. Friday, November 13, 2020, at Marigold Health Care Center, Galesburg.
She was born October 2, 1938, in Galesburg to Robert and Martha (Unger) Hix.
She is survived by a son, Robert McVey of Winter Haven, Florida, a daughter, Kimberly (and Michael) Thomas of London Mills, Illinois, a sister, Judy (and Tom) Worden of Galesburg, a nephew, Tom (and Debbie) Worden of Knoxville, a niece, Missie Worden of Galesburg, two great-nieces, Hailey Worden of Knoxville and Shalane Worden of Galesburg, four grandchildren, Kira Hunt, Destiny McVey, Christina Klapp, and Jeremy Klapp, 11 great-grandchildren, and special friends, David and Patty Klapp of Galesburg.
Sandra graduated from Galesburg High School. She was an operator for the Galesburg telephone company for 40 years. She enjoyed knitting and other crafts. Sandra had a giving heart and loved helping others.
Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at Knoxville Cemetery, Knoxville, Illinois. Pastor Jordan Knight will officiate.
