District 205 is suspending all in-person learning until further notice due to a rising number of coronavirus infections in Knox and Warren counties.

205 spokesperson Amy Pickrel says, “While we have been very proud of everyone’s efforts to keep all of our students and staff safe through the in-person instruction that has occurred, we feel that the trajectory of the infection rate gives us pause. “

They say are providing enhanced levels of assistance, but that assistance will move online as well.

Earlier this month 205 started to slowly allow more students to come back to in-person learning but that was also roughly the time a spike in COVID-19 infections was beginning to form.

The plan was to have the lowest-performing Kindergarten through 2nd-grade students as the district worked its way up the grade levels.

There’s no definite date for students to return to physical classes now.
Pickrel adds, “we know it is in everyone’s best interest to be together once we can do so safely.”
