Louis “Louie” I. Toops, 57, of Marshalltown, IA, passed away at 6:45 p.m., Monday, November 23, 2020, at home surrounded by his family.
He was born on December 9, 1962, in Monmouth, IL, the son of Thomas E. and Verna (Hathaway) Toops. Louie was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School in 1981.
Louie was married to Katrina Toops for many years until her death in 2017.
Louie worked in construction for a number of years in Florida, he later worked at the ladder company in Muscatine, IA, and most recently he worked at the Ron Fisher Furniture in Marshalltown, IA. Louie was very artistic and creative, he enjoyed drawing, painting, and creating ceramic figures. He was an avid Coca Cola collector.
Surviving Louie is his mother, Verna Toops of Monmouth, IL; his siblings, Debbie Ayres (Percy) of Cape Coral, Fla., Thomas Toops II (Amy) of Monmouth, IL, Darol Toops of Monmouth, IL, Marta Toops of Monmouth, IL. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and special family friends, Betty & Alan Pullen of Monmouth, IL.
He was preceded in death by his father, his wife, and one niece, KaLee Pringle.
