Knox County reporting 198 new COVID cases

Coronavirus cases continue to mount in Knox County.

Yesterday, the Knox County Unified Command announced 198 new cases of the virus reported between Friday, December 4, and Monday, December 7, bringing the total number of cases to 3,416.

New cases reported include:

  • 13 Males 30s

  • 15 Males 50s
  • 12 Females 60s
  • 13 Males 60s
  • 8 Females 70s
  • 11 Males 70s
  • 12 Females 80s
  • 1 Male 80s
  • 18 Females 90s
  • 4 Male 90s

In the last seven days, Knox County has reported 390 new cases. Risk metrics numbers released Friday indicate that the test positivity rate for the county was almost 14.9 percent with about 20.8 percent of ICU hospital beds available.

The Health Department continues to promote simple safety precautions, including washing hands, wearing a face covering, maintaining social distancing when outside and around others to help slow the spread of the virus.

They’re also urging residents to stay home as much as possible and avoid seeing people outside of your household, even if you’re not feeling sick.
