Republican Jared Hawkinson was elected Knox County Board Chairman on Monday night by his fellow county board members.
Hawkinson was elected in a somewhat surprising 8-7 vote over Democrat Pam Davidson, who has been the Board’s chair for the past four years.
Hawkinson joined Galesburg’s Evening News on Wednesday to talk about his new responsibilities and what the County Board has on their plate in the year ahead.
