Corin “Cori” Pamela Halgeson-Selman, 49, of Altona, died at 3:45 a.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. Cori was born on October 11, 1971, in Seoul, Korea. Cori was naturalized on July 20, 1976, and grew up in Dawson, MN. She graduated from Dawson-Boyd HS in 1990. Cori graduated from S. Dakota State with a BS in Nursing. For nearly 20 years she worked as an ICU nurse at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN as well as the Mayo Clinic, and St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN. She married John Blair Selman on October 10, 2010, at the Presbyterian Church in Dawson, MN. Blair survives in Altona. She gave birth to a daughter, Lily Jin-Ae Selman on January 8, 2011, at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN. Cori is also survived by her parents, Paul and Pamela (Miller) Helgeson of Kasson, MN; a son, Bryce Selman; two daughters, Haley Selman and Lily Jin-Ae Selman; one grandson, Wyatt; her mother-in-law, Connie Sue Selman. Cori was preceded in death by her father-in-law, John Selman. Cori loved watching all sports especially NASCAR and anything related to Michigan sports. She enjoyed attending country music concerts.
Cremation will be accorded. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, social distancing, face masks, and limited occupancy will be enforced. Private family memorial services will be held.
