Betty L. Lytle, 90, of Galesburg, passed away at 11:27 p.m. Thursday, December 24, 2020, in OSF St. Mary Medical Center, from complications of COVID-19.
She was born April 10, 1930, in Galesburg. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Nelson Bewley; father, Murray Bewley; husband, Richard Lytle; two sons, Dennis Lytle and Randy Lytle; four brothers, Elwood, Dale, Nelson, and Jack; and one sister, Muriel.
She is survived by a son, Tom Lytle; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Betty graduated from Wataga High School and Brown’s Business College. Her career included work at Hawthorne Drug, Western Illinois Ice, Intrastate Phone Company, Inman Motors, and 30 years as a medical office administrator/manager for several doctors.
She was a member of the Bootkickers Dance Group, Wooden Nickel Country Dancers, Choral Dynamics, Northgate Bowling League, and the Henderson United Methodist Church.
Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, January 4, 2021, in the Henderson Cemetery. Rev. Jeff Uddin will officiate. There will be no visitation at this time.
