Knox County reporting 202 new COVID cases in the last week

Cases of Coronavirus Disease in Knox County now exceed 4,000.

Data released by the Knox County Health Department yesterday shows that 202 individuals tested positive for the viral disease between Tuesday, December 22, and Monday, December 28.

That brings the total number of positive cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 4,008.

New cases include:

  • 24 Females 60s
  • 15 Males 60s
  • 6 Females 70s
  • 7 Males 70s
  • 4 Females 80s
  • 4 Males 80s
  • 1 Female 90s

Health officials continue to urge caution for the general health of the public and to continue wearing face-coverings, practice social distancing, and stay home when feeling ill.

The health department is scheduling appointments for COVID testing at the Community Health Center regardless of symptoms or other criteria.

There is also a free COVID-19 testing event on Sunday, January 3, between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm at Hinchliff-Pearson-West at 1070 West Fremont Street in Galesburg. Individuals can drive-thru or walk up and it is open to all Illinois residents, regardless of symptoms.
