On Wednesday, January 13th Galesburg Police were dispatched to Buffalo Wild Wings in Galesburg for a vehicle theft that had just occurred. A construction crew was doing work at the restaurant, and a worker stepped outside and noticed his work truck was missing: a 2004 Dodge Ram with the business’s decals displayed on the sides of it. A short time later, officers located the truck on North Henderson Street being driven by a male subject and conducted the traffic stop on West Main Street. Officers placed the subject under arrest who refused to answer any of the officers’ questions including his name. A pair of backpacks were found inside the truck, and officers obtained the subject’s identity through prescription medications inside the bags: 25-year old Jacob McGraw of Galesburg. The truck belonged to J & M Construction. Back at the public safety building, when McGraw finally spoke, he told officers the truck belonged to him because it had his initials on the sides. Jacob McGraw was charged with felony motor vehicle theft.
