Early morning Wednesday, January 13th Galesburg Police responded to the Shell Express gas station on Grand Avenue after being alerted to a possible glass break sensor by the alarm company. Upon arrival, officers observed the front door being broken but did not see any signs of entry. After store employees arrived, officers learned through security footage that a subject in dark clothing walked up from the east side of the building and stole the store’s donut delivery. The three dozen donuts taken were worth approximately $35. But the broken glass door would cost around $800 to replace. The investigation is ongoing. The suspect is facing burglary, theft, and possible criminal damage to property charges.
