Erma J. Skallberg, 92 of New Windsor, IL died Thursday, January 14, 2021, at Mercer Manor in Aledo.
Graveside services are at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at the Oak Lawn Memorial Garden, Galesburg. There is no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the New Windsor Presbyterian Church. She was born October 21, 1928, in Alpha, IL to Ray and Marjorie Shirrell Kling. She attended the New Windsor and Alpha schools. She married Douglas D. Skallberg on February 20, 1946, in Kahoka, MO. He died on July 17, 2016.
Ema was employed at the Snack Bar in New Windsor as a waitress, cook, and manager. Erma was later employed by the New Windsor Elevator.
She was a member of the New Windsor Presbyterian Church and enjoyed sewing, bowling, crafts, and volunteering at the New Windsor Rodeo and parades.
Survivors include three daughters: Barbara (Doug) Creek of Alpha; Jacqueline (John) Carlson of New Windsor; Terri (Gary) Unsworth of Seaton; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry Kling of Dover, Delaware; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Doug, one grandson, two sisters, and one brother.
