Galesburg man gets stabbed – doesn’t press charges

21-year-old Galesburg man, Junior A. Wallace is in Knox County Jail on aggravated battery charges for stabbing a 54-year-old man on Sunday.

Galesburg Police responded Sunday night to St. Mary’s Medical Center after a victim of a stabbing came to the Emergency Room.

The victim told officers the incident happened at his residence in the 100 block of Blaine Avenue.

The victim said numerous people were present and it started when two individuals were arguing and Wallace told one male to leave.

Wallace fought with the victim and eventually stabbed him in the back.

Wallace then fled.

The victim did not wish to press charges, but Wallace was already in the custody of the Knox County Sheriff’s Department on unrelated charges.
The victim was then transported to Peoria for his wounds.

Wallace already had a pending felony case in Knox County for aggravated fleeing after an arrest in July of 2020, as well as a misdemeanor charge of violating an order of protection.
