
Phillip E. Longcor, Sr., age 66, of Knoxville, Illinois passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021 at 6:01 P.M. at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Illinois, surrounded by his family. Phillip was born on November 29, 1954, in Galesburg, Illinois, the son of Hershel and Ruth (Shinn) Longcor. He attended and graduated from Galesburg High School in 1972. He married Kim Watkins, they later divorced.
Surviving is the love of his life, Georgia Lind of Knoxville, Illinois; one son: Phillip E. Longcor, Jr. of Aledo, Illinois; Georgia’s daughters: Kelly (Steven) Crane of Galesburg, Illinois, Tracy (Kevin) Brown of Galesburg, Illinois, Jacki (Scott) Phillipson of Galesburg, Illinois, Melissa (Rich Freeston) Hager of Galesburg, Illinois; three sisters: Trudy (Dan) Cherrington of Galesburg Illinois, Jenny (Terry) Wulf of LaFayette, Illinois, and Karen Hans of Galesburg, Illinois; three brothers: Jimmy (Cindy) Longcor of Galesburg, Illinois, J.R. (Debbie) Weedman of Las Vegas, Nevada, Perry Weedman of New York. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
He worked for R & B Distributors and Roger Brothers in Galesburg, Illinois for over 30 years, then drove for DCM Trucking for 10 years, retiring in October 2019. He was very particular about his yard, house, cars, and trucks. He was a hard worker. He was an avid Bears and Lakers fan.
Cremation rites will be accorded. A Gathering will be held on Sunday, February 28, 2021, from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. at the Hurd-Hendricks Fellowship Hall in Knoxville, Illinois. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
