Galesburg woman and female juvenile arrested for theft at Walmart

Just before 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 28th Galesburg Police were dispatched to Walmart for a shoplifter complaint. Upon their arrival, officers were met in the parking lot by an Asset Protection Employee who was being yelled at by one of the suspects refusing to come back inside the store. A small crowd had gathered because of the commotion. The suspect was 31-year old Samantha Keller-Hilligoss of Galesburg who refused to comply with police orders. She was eventually handcuffed and escorted back into the store where a 15-year old female accomplice was already in custody. Police reviewed security footage of Keller-Hilligoss and the 15-year old female pretend to scan over $420 worth of merchandise and place them in grocery bags before attempting to leave the store. The pair were placed under arrest. Keller-Hilligoss was charged with Felony Retail Theft over $300, Resisting a Peace Officer, and Disorderly Conduct. The female juvenile was charged with Retail Theft over $300 and a Hancock County Warrant and was transported to the Mary Davis Home.
