Galesburg Silver Streaks Girls Basketball vs. Orion Chargers

The Galesburg Silver Streaks girls basketball team is now 10-3 on the season after a non-conference win over the Orion Chargers Thursday night, 55-44.

The Streaks did not start their regulars.  In fact, only three of the regulars got any playing time, including two of the starters, and not until the second half.

Abby Endthoff led the way for the Streaks with 13 points, including three three-pointers.  She had eight of those points in the second quarter, including three baskets in a row — two of which were three-pointers.  She was one of two Dave’s Autobody Crunch Time Players of the Game.  The other was Armani Revis with seven points — including a three-pointer and a couple of two’s.  Those also were in the first half.  Both players helped to spark the Streaks and got the team to a halftime lead, outscoring Orion 22-11 in the second quarter.  Revis also had eight rebounds.

Kirra Kilgore had ten points and five rebounds off the bench. Abby Lingafelter had nine points, five rebounds, a steal, and a block.

The Streaks turned the ball over 18 times, but only eight of those came in the second half. The Streaks were eight for 13 from the free throw line, and hit five three-pointers.

Orion was led by Hailey James with 17 points. She had eight baskets, and was one for two from the free throw line. No other players were in double figures.

Friday night, the Streaks will take on the Quincy Blue Devils at the GHS Fieldhouse. You can hear the varsity contest starting with pregame at 6:40pm, on 92.7 FM The Laser.
