The Galesburg Silver Streaks boys basketball team made quick work of the winless Rock Island Alleman Pioneers Tuesday night at the GHS Fieldhouse, in the final home game of the season for the Streaks boys, jumping out to a 11-2 lead, that grew to 17-5 by the end of the first quarter, and eventually a running clock in the fourth quarter on the way to a 60-21 victory.
All of the Silver Streaks played, and all but two scored in the game, led by Eric Price with 17, in his final home game as a four-year player in the Streaks program. Demarco Harden also finished in double figures with 11. Koen Derry was our Dave’s Autobody Crunch Time Player of the Game. He had a big second quarter when the Streaks really put the game away — seven points and six rebounds. Those six rebounds, along with Price’s six rebounds, led the Streaks in their eighth victory of the season.
The Sophomores were winners, 49-28. The Freshmen were also winners, 52-42.
Next up for the Galesburg boys, they’ll be at Rock Island Friday night, wrapping up the regular season on Saturday. You can hear Friday night’s varsity game starting at around 7:10pm on WGIL.
