Another semi-trailer-involved accident in Fulton County has resulted in a McLean County man dead.
Illinois State Police say that at around 8:40 Friday morning, 60-year-old Carl Swallow of Le Roy, Illinois, was killed when the semi he was driving went off the road and crashed.
A release from ISP says that Swallow was driving northbound on Illinois Route 97 — just north of Fairview — when the semi went off the right side of the road and struck a tree.
State police say that Swallow was pronounced dead at the scene. Illinois 97 was closed until 3:00 in the afternoon for recovery and towing of the vehicle.
This was the second reported fatal crash in Fulton County in the last week that involved a semi-trailer.
Just the week before, 21-year-old Renee McGrew of Good Hope was killed when the semi-trailer she was driving overturned as she navigated a curve.
