Galesburg police were dispatched to the 600 block of South Academy Street just before 7:30 pm on Saturday, March 20th for reports of a domestic disturbance. Officers met with the male resident who had been stabbed in the stomach. The victim told police he came home and an upset 32-year old Nicholle Terpening, whom he shares the apartment with, stabbed him in the stomach. The victim was transported to Cottage Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers caught up with Terpening on Knox Street who initially claimed the victim had stabbed himself but eventually admitted to throwing a knife at him. Inside the apartment on Academy, officers also found a baggie of suspected methamphetamine – which both parties denied knowledge of. Terpening was placed under arrest and charged with Aggravated Domestic Battery.
