FOREST PARK, IL (AP): Authorities are investigating the death of a man who was shot by police in Forest Park after he arrived at a restaurant waving a gun and saying, “Please don’t make me do this now.” In a news release, the police department says officers were called to a Jimmy John’s restaurant shortly before 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Police say when the man stepped outside, a patrol officer and a sergeant fired their weapons at him. Investigators have not determined if the man fired at police before he was shot.
