There’s been a lot of construction in Monmouth, and now the dominant healthcare group in the region is adding to that.

OSF Healthcare announced Tuesday a $2.75 million gift from the Community Health Foundation of Warren and Henderson Counties.

The gift will go towards redesigning the Emergency Room at OSF HealthCare Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth.

Construction is expected to begin sometime in 2021 and be completed by early 2022.

The gift will create a new emergency department that will provide more than 10,000 square feet of innovative space including 10 treatment rooms.

CEO of OSF’s Western Region Roxanna Crosser says she sees the gift as “ongoing support from a community that believes in the health of the population and what is needed to assure continued services today and into the future.”

Dorothy Ricketts, chairperson of the Community Health Foundation of Warren and Henderson Counties says its a priority of theirs to have an up-to-date medical facility in the area, so that “local residents have good access to quality medical care, and so that the medical caregivers have a great facility in which to practice.”
