Douglas M. Kounse, 63, of Avon, IL passed away at 5:43 am, Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at Seminary Manor, Galesburg, Illinois.
Doug was born June 12, 1957, in Peoria, IL, the son of Dale and Sharon (McCann) Kounse, Sr.
Doug married Rosemarie Brown on December 5, 1978, and she passed away on June 25, 2001. He later married Brenda L. Brookhart Voorhees on April 8, 2008, in Hawaii and she passed away July 5, 2018.
Doug worked as a long-haul trucker and carnival worker.
Survivors include his 2 daughters, Mandy (Traviss) Burke of Taylorville, IL and Naomi (Timothy Christian) Brown of Taylorville, IL; 3 grandchildren, Brooke Burke, Traviss Burke, and Cloe Burke; 3 step-children, Angela (James) Adams of Galesburg, IL, Josh (Allison) Voorhees of Abingdon, IL, Heath (Amanda) Voorhees of Abingdon, IL; 14 step-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren 3 sisters, Lori (Mike) Walters of Creve Coeur, IL, Lynette (Brian) Stanley of Peoria, IL, and Lisa (Paul) Mueller of Springfield, IL; 2 brothers, Daniel Kounse of Lexington, KY and David (Paula) Kounse of Central city, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, his son, Derrick “Ricky” Kounse, and a brother, Dale Kounse, Jr.
