James A. “Zag” Magnison, 56, of Cameron, IL, passed away at 8:10 a.m., Monday, April 5, 2021, at his home.
He was born on December 25, 1964, in Galesburg, IL, the son of James A. and Lila Rae (Lindahl) Magnison. Jimmy was raised and educated in Galesburg and graduated from Galesburg High School in 1983. He later earned his HVAC Certificate from Illinois Central College in Peoria, IL.
Jimmy worked in the plastics division at Maytag in Galesburg for several years. He later did HVAC work for Neil Thomas Plumbing & Heating in Galesburg. Jimmy enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his motorcycle. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Lucas.
Surviving Jimmy are two sons, Jacob Magnison & Austin Magnison, both of Cameron, IL; and one grandson, Lucas Darmer-Herrera of Galesburg, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to the James Magnison Memorial Fund. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, is in charge of the arrangements.
