
On Friday, April 2nd around noon, Galesburg Police were dispatched to the 800 block of West South Street twice within a couple of hours for reports of an unresponsive female. Officers made contact with the female: 36-year old Tahnee Mountjoy of Galesburg who said she was waiting for a ride and still sitting in the same spot as the previous call. Next to Mountjoy on the ground was a bag full of hypodermic needles. She told officers she had only consumed an edible cannabis product and nothing more. Mountjoy was placed under arrest. A search of her backpack turned up a small digital scale and various baggies containing a total of 4.8 grams of what field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Mountjoy declined medical attention and was transported to the Knox County Jail. She’s charged with Possession of Meth less than 5 grams, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Meth with Intent to Deliver.
