LENA, Ill. (AP) – An investigation is underway by Illinois State Police into the fatal shooting of an allegedly armed man seen attempting to enter a bank. David W. Determan of Lena was shot by police and Stephenson County Sheriff’s Department deputies on Friday. Police say the 52-year-old Determan was seen firing into the air outside Citizens State Bank in Lena. A resulting standoff saw Determan speaking with officers and a Stephenson County negotiator while holding his weapon.
