Job seekers looking to get into the skilled trades or industrial sectors will not want to miss Carl Sandburg College’s next career expo being held Thursday, April 15.

The school’s Industrial and Skilled Trades Career Expo is being held from 4-8 pm at the school’s Center for Manufacturing Excellence (CME) on the main campus in Galesburg.

The expo is similar to one that the community college held in March that focused on healthcare professions and courses offered at Sandburg and is aimed at job seekers that want to learn about new opportunities.

Businesses and organizations from the industrial and skilled trade industries will be in attendance for the first part of the expo followed by a tour of the CME as well as an informational session with faculty from Sandburg’s career and technical education programs.

Staff members from the school’s Student Services Office will also be on hand to discuss services available to students, including scholarship opportunities and financial aid.

Anyone interested in learning more about manufacturing, automotive, or agricultural careers will not want to miss that.

The expo is free and open to the public but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, masks are required and attendees must fill out a brief health survey upon entry.

Another expo in varied trades careers will be held on April 23.
