Galesburg Police on Saturday, April 10th was dispatched to the Best Western Prairie Inn at 300 S. Soangetaha Road after housekeeping located a firearm left in one of the rooms. Police met with the hotel employee who was cleaning a room and discovered a silver .22LR Revolver underneath a couch he had moved to clean underneath. The revolver had black electrical tape around the handle and decorative trim pieces that had been removed. Police removed the cylinder which had four .22 LR live rounds and two spent rounds inside. Police were given the names of a female and two males who had rented the room Friday night and had already checked out. The room was rented out for one night on April 7th, and had not been rented out since the beginning of March. The investigation is ongoing.
