Galesburg Police responded to North Pearl Street last night (April 19th) for reports of multiple shots fired and a reported victim. Upon arrival, police were met outside of the residence by a male and the 24-year old female victim. Initially, the male resident wouldn’t let police inside the home, but after GHAS arrived, the female victim was allowed to leave with the male retreating back into the home, locking the doors. It was later learned that the female suffered a graze wound just above her left elbow and was treated and released by St. Mary’s Medical Center. Police canvassed the area and found two spent shell casings. Numerous bullet holes were located on the exterior of the residence but police were unable to determine which were new and which were old due to the residence being shot several times before. WGIL reported back on February 26th, police responded to the North Pearl Street home after it was struck by gunfire. Police viewed a YouTube channel called Virtual Railfan which broadcasts a live feed of trains going over the Sibley Underpass. Officers observed a dark sedan approach the residence last night, and then quickly depart shortly after but can’t see anyone in the footage. The couple’s four children were home at the time of the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
