WGIL’s community events page has you covered with plenty to do this weekend.

Your weekend could include attending a pair of entities in Galesburg that are holding fundraiser events throughout the day Saturday.

The Oaks Senior Center at 176 North Farnham Street is holding a fundraiser to help keep up with the building’s maintenance.

The event will include craft vendors from 9 am – 3 pm with lunch being served between 11 – 1:30 that includes ham and beans or spinach bisque. Both will come with a slice of pie and coffee, tea, or water with a donation price of $6 suggested.

Faith Baptist Church at 1247 South Farnham Street is also holding a day-long event, their annual Rummage Sale, where proceeds will go towards shipping costs for the charity Operation Christmas Child.

Some of the items that will be for sale include electronics, home decor, kitchenware, bedding, toys, outdoor items, Christmas decor, and other knick-knacks. The event is running from 8 am – 4 pm.

If you’re looking for something geared towards the kids, the Discovery Depot has a pair of events coming up this weekend that will surely entertain and teach them.

On Saturday from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm, kids can build a dragster car children’s museum. The cost is $1.50 with admission.

Then, with the weather improving, the Discovery Depot is holding a bike safety program on Sunday from 12 – 3 pm. Kids can come to learn about bike safety before hitting the road and kids get a free bike helmet with every paid child’s admission.
