To celebrate Earth Day last week, G & M Distributors’ recycling center is holding a week-long promotion paying out a little extra for each pound of aluminum cans recycled.
Between Monday, April 26, and Friday, April 30, the recycling center will pay out an additional 3¢ per pound and donating 1¢ per pound to Knox College’s Sustainability Task Force.
Comprised of students, faculty, and staff, the task force reflects Knox”s commitment to sustainable living on campus and off by helping identify, encourage, and support environmentally friendly best practices at the college, institutional and social structures, and economic actions.
According to G & M’s website, the price for recycling cans is 22¢ per pound with a 10 percent deduction for impurities.

Hours of operation for the recycling center are from 9-4.
