Illinois State Police have arrested a 37-year-old Henderson County man for attempted murder related to an incident in late 2020.
Terrance L. Clopton has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, home invasion, aggravated discharge of a firearm and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.
Back on Dec. 31, ISP’s Division of Criminal Investigation was requested by the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department to conduct a shooting investigation in Gladstone.
A male subject had been shot while inside a rural Gladstone residence. The suspect fled the area prior to police arriving, but after investigating authorities believe it was Clopton.
ISP’s SWAT team executed a search warrant in Gladstone Wednesday, where Clopton was taken into custody.
Clopton remains in the Henderson County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
