CHICAGO (AP) – Two Chicago officers have been stripped of their police powers during an investigation into allegations that they beat a teenager during his arrest in January. The Chicago Tribune reports that two other officers are also under investigation for failing to activate their body cameras and one of them is accused of failing to intervene or report what happened during the Jan. 10 arrest. Records indicate the officers were chasing the teen who was driving a stolen car when the teen slammed the vehicle into the police cruiser. The newspaper cites documents obtained through a record request in describing how one of the officers struck the teen and pushed his head into a metal fence and the sidewalk.
