On Saturday, June 19th, Galesburg Police met with a homeowner in the 500 block of Clark Street in reference to a residential burglary. The homeowner, who lives out of town, was contacted by a real estate agent who was at the property to take pictures and noticed all the big appliances in the house were missing. The homeowner arrived and also noticed the back door to the residence had been removed and then replaced and was malfunctioning. The missing appliances included the refrigerator, gas range, microwave, and washer and dryer. The homeowner only knew that the washer and dryer were Maytag brand. A pair of neighbors told police they had seen a white van parked at the house a couple of days prior. Another neighbor reported a truck-load of appliances, and four white males quickly moving inside and outside the house – most likely observing the burglary taking place. The investigation is ongoing.
