Galesburg Silver Streaks Football @ Morton Potters

It was a battle of the offense in the air, and the offense on the ground.  Unfortunately, for  the Galesburg Silver Streaks football team, for the second week in a row, it was a Mid-Illini opponent that came out on top.  This time, it was the Morton Potters defeating the Streaks Friday night on the road, 34-21.

The Silver Streaks led at the half 14-13, and it was the offense through the air that got the Streaks going.  But, two Morton touchdowns in the third quarter that gave the Potters control.

Seth Glatz was the running back star for the Potters, finishing the night with 32 carries for 262 yards and two touchdowns.

For the Silver Streaks, Tristan Legate was 18 of 27 passing for 278 yards and three touchdowns — one of those going to our Dave’s Autobody Crunch Time Player of the Game, Dre Egipciaco, who finished the night with eight receptions and 178 yards.  In fact, his last three of those eight receptions all had enormous impact in the game, including the 23 yard touchdown catch.

But, instead, the Silver Streaks fall to 0-2 on the season.  They enter conference play next Friday night against traditional powerhouse Sterling, on the road.  You can hear that game starting at 6:30pm with the pregame show, and 7pm with the kickoff, all on WGIL, WGIL.com, and WGIL on the TuneIn Radio app.

The Galesburg Freshmen also fell at Morton, 14-7.
