Knox and Monmouth colleges rank on U.S. News and World Report’s Best College’s guide

Knox College slipped a few spots on the latest issue of U.S. News and World Report’s Best College’s guide of best Liberal Arts Colleges.

Last year, Knox was ranked 72nd among U.S. Liberal Arts colleges while also being ranked 20th among the best-valued schools — which was the ratio between the ranking of the institution and the amount a student who received the average level of need-based financial aid paid to attend.

This year, Knox was ranked 79th for national liberal arts colleges and 28th for best value schools. Knox also ranked 22nd for top performers on social mobility and 68th for best undergraduate teaching.

Monmouth was ranked 126th. That’s 33 spots higher than where the College was five years ago, and it is an increase of almost 50 spots since 2013.

Monmouth is also ranked No. 17 in the nation among liberal arts colleges in terms of social mobility.

The guide’s social mobility ranking evaluates a school’s graduation rates of students who receive a Federal Pell Grant compared to those students who did not receive one.
