
State Police responded to two different accidents from over the weekend that required two men to be airlifted to hospitals for serious injuries.
On Friday afternoon at around 3:15, troopers responded to Henry County Road 1, near North 2980th Avenue to the north of Geneseo, for reports of a two-vehicle crash with injuries.
The preliminary investigation indicated that a Honda Accord was southbound on the county road when it crossed the center dividing line and struck a Peterbilt Truck Tractor Semi.
The unnamed 18-year-old male driver of the Honda sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a regional hospital. The street was closed for the crash investigation and cleanup.
At around 1:26 Sunday morning, state troopers responded to East Gorsuch Road, near Hollow Hill Road, in Fulton County for a single-vehicle accident involving a side-by-side ATV.
The preliminary investigation indicated that the vehicle’s driver, 28-year-old William Strayer of Springfield was negotiating a curve and lost control of the ATV, entering a north side ditch and overturning.
Strayer was thrown from the vehicle, sustaining injuries. Charges indicate that he was under the influence of alcohol and was also cited for improper lane usage and failure to wear a seat belt.
