Around 8:20pm on Tuesday, October 12th, Galesburg Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Harrison Street in reference to an unwanted subject. Officers arrived and made contact with 37-year old Brandon Wilson who refused to leave the residence. When officers went to detain Wilson, he pulled away from officers, tensed up, dropped to his knees, and attempted to bang his head on a metal rail at one point. Officers were forced to carry Wilson to a patrol car. Wilson continually resisted – forcing officers to use pepper spray on him. He also ended up bloodied after dragging his face along the gravel driveway. Wilson was eventually transported to the Public Safety Building with help from the Abingdon Police Department’s squad car equipped with a full cage. He was charged with a valid Knox County Warrant, Criminal Damage to Government Property after kicking a squad car, and Resisting a Peace Officer. Wilson was just arrested on October 3rd for Battery, Criminal Trespassing, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting a Peace Officers, and a valid McDonough County Warrant after he attempted to fight his neighbors and exposed himself in the street.
