Coney Island is one of the longest standing restaurants in Illinois, established in 1921. As they celebrate 100 years in business, with the original Coney Dog recipe cooked on the original flat top grill, the Valdez family continues the Galesburg tradition. Jesus Valdez and his mother Maria Valdez bought the business in 2004. They joined Tom Meredith and Tyler Gumm on “Galesburg’s morning News” to talk about the restaurant and its history.
