Sue was born January 29, 1948, in Galesburg, the daughter of Hazel E. “Anne” (VanHuss) and John D. Tuthill. Sue married Richard R. Lewis on August 17, 1974, in Galesburg. Sue earned her LPN from Carl Sandburg College and went on to a lifetime of nursing, spending most of it working at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Knoxville and for Drs. Kale and Paralikar in Galesburg. She loved working around the house and tending to her flower gardens. Sue was a member of the Red Hat Society, loved quilting, and went thrifting as well as shopping QVC. She loved helping others and was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. She was the family handywoman and loved a project, so much so Sue and Dick bought an old farmhouse and completely remodeled it. Most of all Sue loved being with her grandchildren and was their biggest fan when they continued the family tradition of drag racing.
