Just before 8:00 pm Sunday, November 7th, Galesburg Police responded to Casey’s General Store on West Main Street for a retail theft taking place. When officers arrived, store employees were seen in the parking lot arguing with 26-year old Kedrick Dickerson of Galesburg who was holding a pizza. Employees told police Dickerson ordered a pizza, came inside the store and picked it up, and then just walked out without paying for it. Dickerson was eating a slice as officers made contact with him. He was taken into custody and charged with Felony Retail Theft. As he was being detained, officers located a key fob on Dickerson that belonged to a 2016 Ford Mustang that still had dealership tags on it. Officers are familiar with Dickerson and know he does not own a vehicle. Police spoke with employees of Yemm Ford who said they had caught Dickerson walking around the lot pulling on door handles of cars before finally being told to leave. The keys belonged to a Mustang on the showroom floor. Police then requested an arrest warrant for Kedrick Dickerson for possession of stolen property.
