Gloria A. Geer, 64, of Monmouth, IL passed away at 7:45 pm, Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at her home at Lake Warren, Monmouth, IL.

Gloria was born November 26, 1956, in Monmouth, IL, the daughter of Donald and Benita  “Bea” (Bride)  Gavin.  She was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Warren High School in 1974.  She later graduated from Scott Community College with a Certificate in Surgical Technology in 1975.

Gloria married Charles Geer in Monmouth at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on  July 2, 1977, and he survives.

Gloria worked at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg for 40 years as a Surgical Technologist. Gloria also worked as a Real Estate Agent at Monmouth Farm and Home Realty for several years.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Monmouth.  She enjoyed crafting, antiquing, decorating, spending time with friends, and hosting many family gatherings.

Gloria was a very generous and giving person.  She took lots of food to family and friends.  She also loved to go to thrift shops and find bargains for others.  During her earlier years, she loved to have kids of family and friends come to visit at the farm where they would swim in the pool and spend time in the hot tub.   She was known as “Aunt GG” to many.  She also loved fixing up houses.

In later years, she and Charlie enjoyed spending winters at their vacation home in Arizona where they met many friends.

Gloria is survived by her husband, Charlie Geer of Monmouth, IL; her children Adam Geer of Kirkwood, Il, Maggie (Alex Hutchinson) Geer of St. Louis, MO, and Luke (Allison) Geer of Colona, IL; 2 grandchildren, Clara & Molly Geer; her sister, Teresa Gavin of Cedar Falls, IA; brothers, Gary (Connie Frakes) Gavin and Chris (Lisa) Gavin both of Monmouth; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Stan Gavin, and a dear friend Suzanne Lescher.

A memorial mass of the Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Monmouth.  Interment will follow at St. Marys Cemetery.  A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00-7:00 pm, Friday, November 26, 2021, at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
