Galesburg Police on Tuesday, November 23rd, responded to a home on North Seminary Street after a woman reported she was sexually assaulted the night before. The woman came into the Knox County Jail with visible injuries to her face and arm just before 7:00 am that day. She said sometime around 1:30 in the morning, 43-year old Adam Wagner of Galesburg arrived at her home with another female. The victim told Wagner to leave, but instead, he forced his way in and the other woman departed. Wagner then removed the victim’s clothes and raped her. When the victim tried to leave, Wagner punched her and bit her arm – causing the injuries, then threatened to kill her. The victim waited for Wagner to fall asleep then left to report the incident. Wagner was still at the woman’s home when police responded. He denied the allegations, changed his story several times, and was taken into custody. He’s charged with Criminal Sexual Assault and Domestic Battery.
