Around 10:30 pm on Saturday night (January 15th), while already at Walmart for a separate call, Galesburg Police were approached by an individual who said there was a male and a female subject walking through the parking lot attempting to gain access to vehicles. About that same time, dispatch received a call with the same complaint. Based on what the individual told police, officers were able to find and make contact with 34-year old Jessica England of Galesburg whom police have had numerous encounters. England was informed she had two valid Knox County Warrants for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Theft and she was placed under arrest. England eventually admitted to opening vehicle doors but continually denied taking anything. One individual claimed a cashier’s check was taken from their vehicle. A male subject that arrived at Walmart with England was released but could face charges after police review security video. England was transported to the Knox County Jail where after being processed, jail personnel located a cashier’s check located in England. In addition to the warrants, she was also charged with Burglary from a Motor Vehicle.
