
State Senator Jil Tracy announced this week she will seek another term in office but with new legislative maps will not be representing the Galesburg area.
Republican Tracy is from Quincy and will campaign in new territory going south from Adams County toward the Metro St. Louis region.
Knox County will be represented by two different Senators after ‘22, as Peoria’s Win Stoller also has been drawn into a new district.
Galesburg will be a part of the 36th Senate District which includes Macomb, Monmouth and the Quad Cities region.
The large 47th District will horseshoe around the 36th and include rural parts of Knox and Warren Counties, as well as Henderson, Mercer, Fulton counties.
Tracy has been a Senator for 5 years, and before that was in the Illinois House from 2006 to 2015. She also ran unsuccessfully for Lieutenant Governor in 2014 with Kirk Dillard.
