A 29-year-old Canton man has been sentenced to 5 years in federal prison for soliciting an obscene visual depiction of a minor.
Joseph Graham was sentenced back on Feb. 24 and his prison term will be followed by 10 years of supervised release.
Graham was indicted in January of 2020 and pleaded guilty in October 2021.
The prosecution presented in their case against Graham that he used an online app to request “sexually explicit images” of someone he believed to be 8-years old.
Graham thought he was messaging an 8-year-old boy’s father and after several weeks Graham indicated he wanted to engage in sex acts with the child and be the child’s boyfriend.
He also requested sexually explicit photos.
Then in December of 2020 Graham arranged to meet with the child and his father the next month at a coffee shop in Peoria.
When Graham appeared at the coffee shop in January of 2021, he was taken into custody by federal agents.
