ROWVA District 208 is the latest district to be on the search for a new Superintendent.

Superintendent Joe Sornberger had his resignation approved by the board at their meeting Thursday night.

Sornberger’s been hired as superintendent of Jasper County Community Unit School District 1 for the next school year, after eight years at the helm at ROWVA.

A release from the Board today says that conducting a search for a new superintendent is probably the most important decision a board of education can make.

They’ve hired the Illinois Association of School Boards to assist in the process and are requesting students, parents, staff, and community members complete an online survey that will be used to develop a brochure for the position. That survey can be reached by clicking here.

Recently ROWVA Board member Rob Kalb resigned and a closed session meeting is scheduled for Monday to discuss replacements.

However, Thursday night also two more members resign immediately- Board President Jim Haynes and Missy Shepherd.
