Galesburg Police on Sunday, May 8th, responded to the 200 block of Silver Street for a single-vehicle accident where the driver struck a pole and was trying to leave. The incident occurred around 8:20 am. A female who witnessed the female driver trying to depart told her to stay put because the police were coming, according to police reports. Police made contact with the driver: 19-year-old Victoria Bush of Knoxville. Bush had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. After a field sobriety test showed multiple signs of impairment, Bush was placed under arrest. Bush provided a breath sample of .122 BAC. Bush asked arresting officers what her legal BAC limit was. Police said “0.0” since she’s under 21. Bush was transported to the Knox County Jail and charged with DUI A1, DUI A2, Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor, and Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
