Tax bills are being mailed out on Wednesday, May 18, and the Knox County Treasurer’s Office has several reminders that want to be shared.

Treasurer Robin Davis reminds the public to contact her office if the property tax bill is not received by June 15.

Illinois Statues dictate that liability for payment cannot be waived. Installment due dates are July 7 and September 7.

Property owners can make these payments in several ways.

Payments can be made at the Knox County Courthouse, either in the County Treasurer’s Office or by dropping off payments at the drop boxes located at the exit of the Courthouse parking lot or at the north side of the building.

Tax payments left in the drop boxes are collected at 8:30 in the morning and are posted as the previous business day.

Property owners can mail payments to the County Collector, Knox County Courthouse 200 South Cherry Street, Galesburg Illinois 61401.

Taxes may also be paid with a credit or debit card with a fee applied to the cardholder either at the Treasurer’s office, online, or by phone at 1-888-449-5738.

Another avenue taxpayers can go to make tax payments is at any of the banks in Knox County, with the exception of Wells Fargo.

The Knox County Treasurer’s Office hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.

You can contact the Knox County Treasurer’s Office with any questions at 309-345-38ll, 309-345-38l2, or 309-345-3839.
