Back on Thursday, July 7th, Galesburg Police were dispatched to OSF St. Mary’s Medical Center for a report of battery. Police met with the nursing staff who said a female subject was brought into the hospital due to her high level of intoxication, according to police reports. The woman had removed her clothes and was rolling around in the hospital bed. At one point, the woman was “rolling down the hallway in front of the nurses’ station naked.” The woman was “running into” a nurse “in order to get her out of the room.” Another nurse reported that 31-year-old Ieshia Paul-Edwards of Galesburg had grabbed her leg at one point, and multiple other nurses reported that Paul-Edwards attempted to bite them numerous times. Hospital staff was forced to sedate Paul-Edwards. Paul-Edwards was later taken into custody and transported to the Knox County Jail. She was charged with two counts of Aggravated Battery to a Nurse.
