Galesburg Police shortly after midnight on Sunday morning (July 31st) responded to the 400 block of West South Street for multiple female subjects fighting. According to police reports, officers arrived and discovered “3-4 females” on the ground fighting. Police were forced to use pepper spray on the females to get them to disperse. It’s unclear why the fight started, but according to those involved, it stemmed from an earlier incident. Witnesses were unable to identify who struck who first, and who all was involved. Officers received reports that one female subject had a knife, and another female subject had a taser and was “tasing people.” Ultimately, 19-year-old Tamara McGruder and 19-year-old Natalie Thomas were both arrested and charged with fighting.
