Several changes are coming to medical coverage in Knox County through OSF HealthCare.

The medical provider announced Tuesday that the PromptCare location found at St. Mary Medical Center at 3375 North Seminary Street will be moving to its new home at 695 Kellogg Street, the site of the former Cottage Hospital.

WGIL reported back in February that OSF had entered into a purchase agreement to purchase the “real estate, medical equipment, and, and other assets” from Cottage.

Cottage filed for bankruptcy at the beginning of the year, leading to a major scare for patients of the former hospital.

The new space was the former emergency department and is being upgraded to serve patients in its new capacity and will provide a “larger capacity for provision of urgent care services, including on-site lab and imaging, in Galesburg and the surrounding communities.”

The existing OSF PromptCare on the St. Mary main campus will be the future home of several specialty departments as OSF continues to recruit new talent to serve the community.

The new PromptCare location is slated to open in September.

Other changes coming to the county include the moving of a Primary Care clinic in Knoxville, currently located at 104 South Broad Street to its new home at 904 East Main Street. That location is expected to open later in the month.

Finally, there will be a satellite location opening in Galva for OSF Rehabilitation at St. Mary Medical Center. The site will focus on physical therapy, vestibular issues, total joints, shoulder surgeries, and knee, back, and neck pain.

That location is expected to open in September at 230 Exchange Street, Unit D.
